Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will be required to qualify as a NQA-1 Lead Auditor and perform assessments. Will be responsible for developing checklists, assessment plans, and assessment reports based on upper tier requirements. Successful candidate will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions including, but not limited to, Quality Assurance review/approval and disposition of nonconformance reports for the Central Characterization Program (CCP). Perform QA review of procedure and procurement documents for compliance with the applicable quality program requirements. Assist in the maintenance and development of the technical, administrative, and programmatic documents related to the implementation of a NQA-1/10CFR830 compliant program. Support CCP Trend Analysis efforts. Assist WIPP personnel with procurement quality requirements. Assist with supplier evaluation and audits. Perform receipt inspections for CCP. Travel to, lead, and participate in supplier assessments. Travel to perform assessments of CCP activities at generator sites. Write clear and organized reports and other documents that effectively communicate ideas, problems, solutions, and status of projects.
Exempt Grade Levels (28-33)

- Bachelor’s degree, or
- Associate's degree with four (4) years of work experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of work experience is required.
- Must have strong interface skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Preferred Requirements
- Strong oral and written communications, strong audit/surveillance skills including prior NQA-1 Lead.
- Auditor Certification, or American Society for quality certification is preferred.
- Experience with Software QA is a plus.
- Current DOE Q Clearance, Human Reliability Program Certified is a plus.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Minimum salary $67,817 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
