The Air Force Civilian Service is currently seeking three full-time General Engineers to work in the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, the Minuteman III (MMIII) Systems Division, the Systems Engineering and Test Branch, Test and Assessment Section at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.
These positions (960810, 172003, and 274749) are NH-0801-03. The salary range for this position is $89,508 - $124,291 based on the Value of Position (78), which includes Hill AFB locality pay.

The MMIII Division manages the MMIII ICBM technical life extension program and integrated life-cycle activities, thus ensuring that MMIII continues to be a credible nuclear deterrent against current and emerging threats.
The primary purpose of these positions is to serve as a Hardness Engineer providing technical leadership for the coordination, development, and execution of current and long-range planning necessary for nuclear hardness and survivability testing conducted at Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) and the Missile Wings. The LMTF provides nuclear effects testing for programs under the purview of the AFNWC. These nuclear effects include radiation, shock / vibration, and electromagnetic interference. The employee filling this position will initiate and manage a portfolio of various upgrades / modifications to nuclear hardness and survivability testing capabilities that will meet the requirements of future ICBM programs requiring enhanced nuclear effects testing.
Employees will be part of a dynamic engineering team, working with Department of War (DoW) and industry leaders. Team members are expected to operate at a high-performance pace and develop and maintain a radical teaming-centric culture. These positions provide support for the ground-based leg of America’s nuclear deterrence triad.
DUTIES:
- Lead team of government and contracted engineers and acquisition support personnel to execute and modernize nuclear hardness and survivability testing capabilities.
- Represent the organization at executive levels within the government and to contractor/industry representatives, delivers presentations on project/program technical status, accomplishments, challenges encountered and anticipated, support requirements, and the integration and advocacy of program and project objectives.
- Establish management controls such as milestones, technical risks, and management reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problems.
- Advise leadership on technical risks associated with implementing proposed solutions.
- Provide continuous assessment/evaluation of goals, objectives, strategies, and performance to ensure a sound basis for long-range acquisition program management processes and follow-on system life cycle support planning.
SKILLS:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in engineering is required.
- Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and collaborating in a diverse team environment that includes external functional and program stakeholders is required.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present briefings, reports, findings and recommendations, program information, written summaries, and results from synthesized data and/or metric analysis etc., with senior leadership, external stakeholders and customers (e.g., government contractors, other government agencies, federal Labs, etc.) is required.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
