What You'll Do
- Performs computer system based calibration procedures to assure instrument specification accuracy and compliance to national and international standards associated with the calibration and control of measuring and test equipment.
- Performs manual calibration procedures to assure instrument specification accuracy and compliance with applicable DOE, national, and international standards.
- Records test data for all calibrated equipment as required.
- Reports defects observed during completion of calibration procedures.
- Assists in the development of automated and/or manual calibration/test procedures.
- May support additional organizations with the inspection, test, repair, service, fabrication, alters, and install of a wide variety of electrical power, electronic, and instrumental equipment, including controlling devices and wiring systems; precision mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and pneumatic instruments and devices; radiation instruments, x-ray machines, computers, telephone equipment, radio networks, facsimile systems failures.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Requires trade school or apprenticeship training with four years of applicable industrial electrical and electronics experience or equivalent combination.
- A working knowledge of the National Electrical Codes and electrical safe work practices is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematic/engineering diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and vendor manuals.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- Must be a motivated individual and able to work independently.
- Working knowledge and experience with precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to navigate within computer database systems and perform data entry.
