What You'll Do
This position provides technical coordination and management of diverse Y-12 support services at local offsite subcontractor facilities. The position serves as the primary point-of-contact with the subcontractor, serves as the Subcontract Technical Representative for the contract, and coordinates activities by Production, Development, and Programs in that facility. In addition, this position supports the Uranium Transformation Senior Director in the technical execution and integration of production responsibilities related to the diverse initiatives within Y-12 uranium mission activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) for offsite facility contracts – in support of Y-12 production technology maturation and supplemental production. Serve as point-of-contact with subcontractor and with Procurement to ensure work is executed on authorized tasks and questions/issues are resolved in a timely manner and consistent with terms of subcontracts and authorized tasks. Prepare and/or review statements of work and responses to same. Perform technical evaluations, support safety analyses and hazard evaluations, and manage procurement related documentation for facility, equipment, or services related tasks.
- Coordinate and Manage Y-12 Activities at the Offsite Facility - Serve as the company point of contact for activities being conducted at the offsite facility. Coordinate with Y-12 Production, Development, Programs, and the Subcontractor to ensure planning for space needs, classification, access, and for control of hazardous materials. Ensure that near term activities do not impinge on future plans, without adjusting those plans and consulting with stakeholders. Track ongoing projects to ensure that activities are being completed per schedule. Provide single point-of-contact to both subcontractor and plant to support visits, tours, meetings, and reviews.
- Provide support to Y-12 Uranium Mission Transformation – As requested by the Uranium Transformation Senior Director, prepare plans and implement the uranium strategy(s). Prepare, administer, communicate status, and manage risks associate with the uranium mission strategy. Handle internal and external information requests and support Y-12 Program Offices. Articulate uranium strategy across CNS and to outside groups. Consolidate feedback to NNSA to ensure a consistent message regarding actions and implementation of the Uranium Strategy. Act as interface between Y-12 organizations to ensure a coordinated effort to solve issues related to implementation of the Uranium Strategy.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master’s degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- OR PhD: N/A
- Ten or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related technical discipline and 4 years of experience involving NNSA facility operations; OR equivalent technical experience.
- Additional Job Specific Requirements: Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience integrating various major departments in a functional area that may have competing priorities. Requires experience in resolution of multi-function or multi-process problems.
- A Q clearance is required. Position requires entry into Material Access Areas.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
