What You'll Do
- Sets up and operates standard and specialized machine shop tools and equipment, both manual and CNC controlled. Fabricates, reworks, and/or repairs jigs, fixtures, gages, tools, and components by reading and comprehending complex blueprints.
- Performs one-of-a-kind or repetitive tasks involving machining, assembly, finishing, and grinding of various products to close tolerances.
- Must be able to check dimensional requirements and specifications using hand tools, gages, functional gages, and other prescribed measuring equipment.

Minimum Job Requirements
- This position is a journeyman machinist, minimum of six years' current journeyman machinist experience in a production or inspection environment.
- Position will be subject to shift work assignment and handling of special materials.
- May be required to work in Radiological Controlled Areas and/or Beryllium Areas.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Notes
Requires a Q clearance: however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
