What You'll Do
Position responsibilities include working with Stewardship Supervisors, Integration Leads, Laborers, and craft personnel to manage Stewardship scope including cleanout activities involving Confined Space, Lockout Tagout, Beryllium Decon, to meet safety, security, quality, and customer performance expectations while ensuring compliance and implementation of all requirements that directly support the Stewardship Program. These requirements include all pertinent laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and DOE Orders and requirements for responding to emergent risks such as pressurized containers and spills, facility cleanups/cleanouts, and unneeded materials and chemicals (UMC) disposition initiatives for Y-12. Responsibilities also include assisting generators with material disposition determinations including Excess, recycle, sanitary, LLW, universal, and mixed waste, characterization and disposal request preparation.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Supporting daily operations/activities for the Stewardship laborers and craft personnel to meet federal and state requirements and Y-12 objectives/goals, which includes coordination with all Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) disciplines, and customers.
- Manages a multitude of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and low-level waste (LLW) regulated areas and containers in a safe, secure, efficient, effective, and compliant process.
- Executes cleanup/cleanout and UMC work in all Y-12 facilities and offsite CNS managed locations to meet safety, security, quality, fire protection, CONOPS, and compliance with all DOE Orders, procedures, plans, regulations, confined space, beryllium, lockout tagout, radiological, and environmental permits, contingency/spill plans, and customer expectations. Coordinates with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Construction.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Production Maintenance and Security: High school diploma: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Associate degree in related discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years
- A working knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, Universal Waste, Property, Low Level Waste Management, Department of Transportation, environmental, security, property, safety, and waste management regulatory requirements
- Preferred candidate will have a technical degree and material disposition and/or environmental related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are highly desired
- Successful candidate must be a self-starter working independently and teaming to solve problems
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail a plus
- Computer skills include: e-mail and Microsoft Office Suite
