Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work directly with Surface and Underground Facility Operations and Work Control Planners to develop Isolation Components and Positions needed to support surface and underground work control documents in the planning stage
.
LOTO Coordinator will aid in the administrative completion of all LO/TO review sheets (EA10WC3011-34-0) needed for work control documents. And will provide additional support for Surface and Underground Facility Operations with Panel Audits, Redlines and Circuit Verification as needed. Work with Fire Protection Engineering and Fire Department on Fire watch, system impairment issues and drawing as-builts.
Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of related experience, or
- Associate’s degree with six (6) years of related experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with ten (10) years of related experience is required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).
- Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries –are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous WIPP Project experience a plus.
- Three (3) years of nuclear experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Site Fire Alarm Detection and Fire Water Systems is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of fire science, building codes and fire safety.
- Ability to analyze complex fire protection strategies need to support the Site.
- Provide technical support craft and vendor on Site Fire system operations.

Exempt grade level(s) 30-32. Salary range: $82,382 to $145,184 per year --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
