What You'll Do
The Production Control Manager leads a team of production planners, schedulers, and analysts while driving continuous improvement of production planning systems, business processes, and operational performance. The role collaborates closely with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Information Technology to ensure efficient execution of production schedules and optimal utilization of resources.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Lead development and execution of production schedules that align customer requirements, operational priorities, and resource constraints.
- Establish and maintain finite and infinite capacity planning processes to support manufacturing operations.
- Monitor schedule attainment, work-in-process (WIP), throughput, and production performance metrics.
- Coordinate production priorities across multiple manufacturing organizations and facilities.
- Identify and mitigate production bottlenecks, resource constraints, and schedule risks.
- Ensure effective synchronization between production schedules, material availability, and workforce capacity.
Manufacturing Execution and Work Management
- Oversee release, tracking, and closure of production orders and work packages.
- Establish processes for managing work-in-process inventory and production status visibility.
- Coordinate production recovery plans for schedule disruptions and emergent operational priorities.
- Support operational readiness and execution of critical manufacturing programs.
Cross-Functional Business Process Leadership
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality organizations to optimize production performance.
- Facilitate integrated planning activities that balance demand, capacity, and material availability.
- Lead resolution of production scheduling conflicts and operational constraints.
- Support strategic capacity planning, workforce planning, and operational readiness initiatives.
Continuous Improvement and Analytics
- Analyze schedule adherence, capacity utilization, throughput, cycle times, and manufacturing performance trends.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on production flow, scheduling effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage SAP and business intelligence tools to improve planning accuracy and decision-making.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
Leadership and Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and develop production planners, schedulers, and production control personnel.
- Establish performance expectations, planning standards, and operating procedures.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop organizational capability in production planning, scheduling, and SAP manufacturing processes.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- OR 15 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
Preferred Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of supervisor experience
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Information Systems, or related field
- Significant experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or production control
- Experience serving as a functional lead, process owner, or business systems manager within SAP manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of production control, capacity planning, manufacturing execution, and supply chain operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives
- Experience supporting complex, highly regulated manufacturing environments
- SAP Production Planning (PP), Manufacturing Execution, or Supply Chain Management experience
- APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP)
- Experience leading ERP implementations, upgrades, or digital manufacturing initiatives
- Knowledge of advanced planning systems, manufacturing analytics, and operational excellence methodologies
