Position Title: Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator – Hybrid/Remote

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $80,000 based on relevant experience and qualifications
LOCATION: Hybrid/Remote with 25% travel; eligible candidates may reside in TN, MI, OH, IN, FL, WV, NC, TX, PA; preference given to candidates within 1 hour of Knoxville, TN
JOB SUMMARY
IACMI - The Composites Institute®, is seeking a Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator to manage the supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment strategy across IACMI workforce development programs. This role will have a primary focus on the Foundations program, which supports K-12 workforce awareness and provides hands-on learning engagement through age-appropriate STEM activities, while also providing cross-functional support for advanced manufacturing workforce development initiatives focused on training, education, and industry-driven workforce solutions: America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) and Metallurgical Engineering Trades Apprenticeship & Learning (METAL). The Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for improving efficiency, reducing cost, minimizing risk, and strengthening the efficient delivery of materials, supplies, equipment, and program resources across a growing national network.
This individual will establish and maintain relationships with fulfillment centers, vendors, educational partners, and industry partners and will work directly with other departments at IACMI to streamline logistics operations, improve procurement and distribution practices, reduce shipping and packaging costs, and support the effective execution of workforce development programs. The role will also participate in continuous improvement efforts tied to supply chain performance and cost-reduction strategies across multiple programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support supply chain and logistics planning, coordination, and execution for the Foundations program, while supporting ACE and METAL as needed.
- Identify relationships with fulfillment centers, shipping providers, vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners and work with IACMI’s Program Admin & Contracting Team (PACT) to solicit RFQ/RFPs in compliance with IACMI procurement policies to improve provider services, reduce cost, and mitigate operational risk.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies related to shipping, packaging, materials, supplies, equipment delivery, and fulfillment across programs.
- Work with IACMI’s Program Admin & Contracting Team (PACT) to streamline processes for procurement, sourcing, and delivery planning to ensure program materials, supplies, and equipment are delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner.
- Develop metrics to measure logistics efficiency for both contracted partners and internal efforts.
- Visit vendors, partners and sites to assist in selection, inventory and quality control.
- Work with partner companies and suppliers to improve pricing, delivery timelines, packaging solutions, and overall logistics efficiency.
- Monitor logistics performance, fulfillment processes, inventory practices, and supply chain risks, proactively resolving issues that may impact program delivery.
- Help standardize and improve inventory, distribution, shipping, fulfillment, and material-tracking practices across multiple workforce development initiatives.
- Support coordination of equipment delivery and related logistics for ACE and METAL sites, including opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
- Collaborate with other departments within IACMI to align logistics operations with program goals, schedules, site needs, and participant experience.
- Work with IACMI’s Accounting team to select and implement an inventory management system that meets the needs for accurate and timely financial reporting of raw materials and finished goods, improves tracking of materials ordered and received, fulfillment, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Work with IACMI’s PACT team to communicate logistics training, best practices, and process improvement information to staff
- Work on continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, and operational workflows across programs and events
- Track and report key logistics and supply chain metrics, trends, savings, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Support the development of scalable systems and processes that support future program growth and expansion.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
- 5-10 years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics, operations, or related fields.
- Experience working with vendors, shipping providers, fulfillment centers, and supplier relationships.
- Experience with federal military, energy, or transportation procurement programs is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across programs, partners, and delivery timelines.
- Experience supporting distributed operations, multi-site programs, or national-scale initiatives is preferred.
- Familiarity with workforce development, manufacturing, education, or program operations environments is a plus.
