What You'll Do
This role requires a candidate with strong knowledge and experience in applying security principles, interacting with key plant organizations, and managing and coordinating security operations, including working with diverse technologies, physical security systems, maintenance, budget, logistics, and incident management. The successful individual will also provide critical administrative support to the Physical Security Systems department, encompassing proficiency with Microsoft Office, technical editing of procedures, managing electronic records, and handling procurement. Key responsibilities include preparing complex technical reports, publications, and proposals, alongside efficiently scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and managing communications. Ultimately, this position ensures seamless security operations and robust administrative oversight for the department's success.
Responsibilities
- Operational Optimization: Managing and prioritizing physical security work orders based on criticality and adherence to Department of Energy (DOE) O 473.1A. The role also oversees budget, procurement, inventory, and life-cycle management of physical security equipment for operational sustainment.
- Maintenance & Work Orders: Manage and prioritize security work orders, ensuring physical deterrents, barriers, and delay programs are functioning at peak performance.
- Financial & Resource Management: Facilitate the department budget and all procurements. Maintain accurate inventory and logistics for all security equipment and hardware.
- Administrative Support: Handle incident management systems and general administrative oversight to ensure program compliance and efficiency.
- Documentation & Compliance: Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation for all security systems (including policies, procedures, and plans) and ensures rigorous configuration change control management, strictly adhering to Pantex document control standards and processes.
- Policy & Standards Adherence: Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable Physical Security Systems policies and standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Pantex, and relevant industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Typical relevant experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
- Associate degree in related discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical and operational information clearly and effectively, and to conceptualize and communicate major elements of security and safeguards to both technical and non-technical personnel.
