What You'll Do
Provide assistance to technical staff by coordinating and supporting activities such as safety basis documentation development, reviews and improvement initiatives. Coordinate training activities and maintain records. Develop and maintain metrics (Tableau). Works with members of the Safety Analysis Engineering (SAE) staff to enter evidence into the Y-12 issues management system (TOPIC), as well as tracking open issues for SAE Management. May maintain and prepare budget data into reports for SAE Management. Coordinate document submittals with the Document Management Center (DMC). Support the department as a derivative classifier (DC/RO) once qualified. Support SAE Management by tracking Projects and associated SAE tasks including maintaining communications with Project Managers. May serve as a Subcontractor Technical Representative (STR) for SAE subcontractors. May represent Safety Analysis Engineering in meetings with various on-site and off-site organizations. Performs duties with opportunity for exercise of initiative, independent judgment and discretion under general supervision. Is accountable for the results of actions taken. Coordinate with various on-site and off-site organizations. May conduct self-assessments/surveillance of selected plant operations and plant procedures, prepares and issues reports, recommendations for corrective action, and conducts follow-up for correction of non-compliant conditions.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: No experience.
- Eight of more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited program with at least 2 years of related experience.
- This position requires the ability to utilize automated workflow system; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- This position requires knowledge of DSA and safety basis process and documentation; ability to develop and maintain historical information
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability using project management techniques such as tracking and trending, scheduling and cost estimating to meet reliability, operability, cost, schedule and quality expectations
- The position requires the ability to provide frequent communication and interactions with variety of customers, both internal and external.
- Must present information clearly and effectively through oral and written word.
- Typical experience could range from two to fifteen plus years; no experience is required for entry level positions.
