What You'll Do
Performs duties in support of the Personnel Security Department to include; ICAM/badging, Human Reliability Program, Clearances and Access Control. All departments must meet the requirements of, and perform within the DOE directives and procedures. Contributes to the development of new security concepts, techniques, and standards. Be considered as a specialist in all operations within the organization. Interacts daily with PerSec managers, Team Leads and other members to ensure an open exchange of information. Performs quality check of personnel security forms, e-Clearance Action Request (eCAR), access control, Argus enrollment, badging, clearance investigation/reinvestigation, and support tasks related to DOE Order 472.2A, 470.4C, and 473.1C, 142.3A and 10 CFR 712.
Uses MS Office and government and CNS databases. Assists teammates and customers and protects sensitive or personal privacy information from unauthorized disclosure. Works safely and securely in an environment with constant interruption or redirection. Displays high standard of attention to detail and focus on procedural requirements. Communicates regularly with supervision, federal and contractor personnel in support of badging activities.
Primary Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Being trained to assist in all departments of Personnel Security to ensure increasing demands of the department are met with efficiency
- Completes all assigned tasks including sending and receiving e-mail, report writing, and developing activity metrics reports
- Perform in a manner that displays the most excellent customer services skills
- Works effectively despite interruptions and responds to changing needs and competing tasks by organizing and prioritizing work assignments
- Under minimal supervision, monitors work assignments of applicable departments to ensure fair and equitable distribution of workload
- Communicates staff compliance issues to supervision

Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- OR Associate's degree in related discipline: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or 2 or more years of experience in operations disciplines/functions
- Requires general understanding of plant facilities and operations
- Requires general knowledge and understanding of systems, process, and equipment in work area
- Education and experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
- Understanding of the Y-12 security mission is important
- Requires proficiency in written and oral communication and must possess knowledge of Y-12 and/or NNSA/DOE security procedures and regulations
- Candidate must also possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as the ability to interact with other DOE employees and contractor personnel at all levels and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
