What You'll Do
This role is responsible for functional leadership of the strategic architecture, governance, and long-term vision for our core business systems in a manufacturing environment, as well as aligning enterprise applications—such as SAP and related manufacturing systems—with company strategy, operational needs, and future technology direction.
Key Responsibilities & Business Systems Strategy - Define and maintain the long-term architecture and road map for Y-12 business systems (ERP, MES, Production Planning).
- Ensure business system evolution supports manufacturing operations, financial processes, quality, and supply chain requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain leadership to align technology strategy with business goals.
- Lead evaluation of emerging technologies that enhance operational efficiency.
- ERP & Business Systems Leadership:
- Provide functional architectural oversight for SAP and related enterprise platforms.
- Evaluate enhancements, integrations, and new technologies impacting the ERP ecosystem.
- Work closely with business leaders in Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure continuity.
- Translate operational needs into scalable technology solutions.
- Manufacturing Systems Integration:
- Design and guide integration between ERP, MES, shop floor systems, logistics, and analytics platforms.
- Ensure systems support production planning, inventory management, quality control, and operational reporting.
- Promote efficient data flow across manufacturing and corporate systems.
- Solution Architecture & Governance:
- Lead architecture reviews for new system initiatives and major upgrades.
- Develop reference architectures and technical standards.
- Business Systems Digital Transformation Liaison:
- Ensure the Y-12 Business System strategy aligns with the Y-12 Digital Transformation strategy.
- Implement Business System upgrades as new software, hardware, and infrastructure are deployed in the name of DT.
- Implement AI & LLM solutions in a manufacturing setting as part of the Y-12 Business Systems Strategy, in alignment with the Y-12 Digital Transformation Strategy.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 14 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8 years of experience with enterprise business systems or ERP platforms
- Strong experience with SAP or similar enterprise ERP platforms
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven experience designing enterprise system architecture and integrations
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, MES systems, or manufacturing automation platforms
- Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar)
- Experience with data architecture, APIs, and cloud integration
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (MRP, production planning, quality, supply chain)
