What You'll Do
Installs, changes the layout, moves and repairs machines and mechanical equipment usually of the heavy type, including stand-by equipment, conveyors, freight and passenger elevators, power drive equipment, pumps, supply and exhaust fans, and other heavy mechanical machinery. Works from floor layouts, drawings, sketches, or work orders. Operates laser alignment tools, vibration analysis equipment, and machine shop equipment.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Requires four years of applicable experience or equivalent combination in a plant or mill involving the laying out, setting up, and general maintenance of machines, elevators, mechanical equipment and related power transmitting systems usually of the heavy type.
- Ability to work from blue prints, sketches, manufacturer's guides, oral instructions, and other data is necessary. Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator. Must satisfactorily complete all training requirements.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A: (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- Trade school or apprenticeship.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
