Job Title: Fire Protection Design Engineer
Duration: 12 months with extension(s)
Location: Oak Ridge (Y-12)
Short Summary about Job:
HukariAscendent is seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer to support fire sprinkler system design activities at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and maintaining fire protection systems in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and DOE Life Safety Code requirements. This position requires Q clearance eligibility. No per diem is offered.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design.
- Experience implementing programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety in accordance with all OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code requirements.
- Ability to plan, self-perform tasks, and multi-task on multiple projects.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively through oral and written communication and utilize automated workflow systems.
- Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
- Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
- Ability to follow procedures and work within a rigorous work process.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineering License (PE).
- Proficiency using hydraulic calculation software (HASS, etc.).
- DOE work experience.

- Q clearance eligibility required.
- Hourly rates: Level 2 - $47.76 | Level 3 - $61.14 | Level 4 - $75.70 | Level 5 - $87.33.
