What You'll Do
Radiological Control Field Operations Manager is responsible for managing the Field Operations Department and all aspects of the field deployed radiological control function and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Radiological Control. Responsibilities include establishing strategic direction, financial planning, staffing and development, and a common management system for Y-12 NCS field implemented encompassing operations. Elements of the management system will at a minimum include: policy and procedure development, setting and evaluating annual goals and objectives; financial planning; program development; training; self-assessment and management reviews.
Specific responsibilities of the Radiological Control Field Operations Manager include:
- Ensuring compliance with all aspects of 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 835; applicable (DOE) requirements and National Nuclear SecurityAdministration (NNSA) orders
- Implementing programs to reduce and control the potential for radiological incident and employee exposure including As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) program administration and reporting
- Establishing and maintaining field operations program
- Serving as the Y-12 NCS customer and regulatory agency contact regarding Y-12 NCS radiological control field operations activities. Staff certification and qualification and surveillance evaluations
- Administering employee counseling program for radiological exposure hazards, including personnel contamination investigations

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- OR Eighteen or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
