What You'll Do
The Building Manager directly supports System Health, Facilities Operations Management, and Production Management in proactively managing activities for nuclear/production support systems, including the support structures and equipment, criticality accident alarm systems, fire protection systems, piped utilities, HVAC systems, and office space.
Responsibilities
- Contacting system health personnel, production personnel, and system engineers to maintain continual awareness of facility and equipment needs.
- Understanding the production deliverables schedule and anticipating/scheduling equipment maintenance that is needed to ensure equipment availability to meet production schedules.
- Serving as a key source of information regarding definition of projects required for long-range sustainment of infrastructure equipment.
- Interacting with Infrastructure personnel, construction, and utilities personnel to ensure plant procedures are effectively implemented in the completion of projects and maintenance work packages on assigned equipment.
- Maintains an effective Facility Excellence Program including completion of condition assessment surveys, fire protection assessments/surveillances, freeze protection program checklists, and PrYde walk downs.
- Serving in a project management role for specific equipment health issues/projects that involve extensive, cross-functional coordination for successful completion.
Accountabilities
- To the System Health Manager for defining and scheduling of activities to minimize equipment downtime, improve facility conditions, and enable production mission accomplishment.
- To the production personnel for proactively addressing equipment needs such that production schedules are not interrupted and facility conditions provide a safe and secure work environment for employees.
Authorities
- Authorized to communicate priorities for equipment maintenance to support organizations involved in equipment budgeting and maintenance.
- Authorized to represent System Health in meetings established to identify and prioritize activities that resolve equipment availability issues and promote equipment reliability.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- OR PhD.
- Ten (10) or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- Strong technical, organizational, and computer skills, including proficiency with SAP.
- Direct experience in maintenance of equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with site wide programs for Lock & Key control, repository management, waste management, quality equipment grading and quality level determination process, MT&E, calibration, and ET&I programs is preferred.
