Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Office of General Counsel group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Corporate Patent Attorney! Our team works onsite in Idaho Falls with a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off. Responsibilities Include: - Serve as Patent and Intellectual Property Counsel for the Laboratory. - Provide legal support for business agreements, patents, copyrights, licenses and other legal services in support of the laboratory mission. - Provide creative, timely and effective legal advice to management related to intellectual property and other business issues. - Coordinate effective use of outside patent counsel. - Demonstrate and model INL values and standards of conduct. - Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and litigation. - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s and INL’s interests are protected. - Advise on compliance with federal and state laws and regulations applicable to the company’s operations. - Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, working with external counsel as necessary. - Collaborate with internal departments to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and projects. - Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to provide timely and accurate legal advice. - Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices. - Provide training and educational sessions to staff on legal topics and compliance matters. - Represent the company in negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings as required. - Support the General Counsel in various legal and administrative tasks as needed. - Maintain proficiency in all assigned areas of law. - Other duties as assigned
