What You'll Do
In the Human Reliability Program (HRP) at Pantex, the psychologist plays a crucial role in evaluating the mental and psychological fitness of individuals with access to critical, security-related assets or information. They conduct psychological assessments in an occupational health setting to ensure that individuals who occupy positions affording access to certain materials, nuclear explosive devices, facilities, and programs meet the highest standards of reliability and physical and psychological suitability. Evaluations follow Title 10 of the Federal Code of Regulations Part 712 (HRP) with semi-structured interviews that may include administration of an approved objective personality test. The psychologist does not provide treatment or EAP services to employees but rather functions in an evaluative and consultant role. The psychologist has a meaningful impact on the nation’s nuclear security by performing assessments, collaborating with other clinical psychologist experts on staff, and maintaining a balanced professional schedule, free from on-call duties or acute crisis management. Minimum Job Requirements - PhD from a psychology program that includes a one-year clinical internship approved by the American Psychological Association
- Have accumulated a minimum of three years postdoctoral clinical experience with an emphasis in psychological assessment and testing
- Must be eligible for a Department of Energy security clearance
- Must have a valid, unrestricted state license to practice psychology;
- Must be able to obtain Texas psychology licensure prior to start date
Preferred Job Requirements
- Psychology license from the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council
- At least seven years of independent practice as a psychologist
- Experience in a multidisciplinary setting

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
