What You'll Do
Location: Oak Ridge, TN
The intern will:
- Assist in developing near, mid, and long-term site plans
- Conduct familiarization visits around the site to gain understanding of site planning challenges and opportunities
- Work with SharePoint and other collaborative tools
- Collaborate with multiple divisions and functional areas across the site
- Produce presentations and papers related to site planning initiatives and efforts
- Foster collaborative working relationships between Y-12 and sites across the Enterprise
The Internship Program is a 10-12 week program that offers challenging assignments, projects, and career development workshops to enhance your professional growth. You will also earn a competitive salary based on your discipline and academic class status. The 2026 intern program is scheduled to start on May 18, 2026 and conclude on July 23, 2026.
The internship position will remain open until all candidates have been identified.

Minimum Job Requirements
- To be considered for the intern position, you must be working toward or have completed a degree in General Architecture/Urban & Regional Planning/Civil Engineering/Industrial Engineering, or related field. Students who have graduated are eligible up to two years post graduation. In addition, you must have completed (at a minimum) your sophomore year in college, have an overall GPA (grade point average) of 2.8/4.0 or above, and be a United States Citizen.
