Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an early career Systems Administrator to serve as a technical field support engineer. The candidate will be required to manage a range of tasks to resolve technical issues for users in maintaining compute infrastructure, software maintenance, handle conference room audio visual equipment, some code development and scripting, and end user M365 suite support.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be working with a growing field support team and will be responsible for day-to-day interaction with end user customers. The task will follow the direction of leadership to support customers with a variety of desktop support requests. Support will be both deskside and over remote connectivity. The successful candidate will be asked to troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues and document resolutions into a tracking system. In addition this candidate will be responsible for supporting large conference room meetings and be able to troubleshoot and activate VTC equipment as needed. In addition some development work will be required in SharePoint to assist with creating support documentation and internal inventory of computer equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Technology, or related field.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required.
- Two years of technical computer support
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems (desktop and server).
- Technical customer and helpdesk skills (deskside, screen share, and phone).
- Crestron VTC hardware and software configuration and usage.
- Experience supporting large conference room AV components, such as microphones, audio, cameras, and large screen display projectors.
- Hands on Experience with Microsoft Teams Kits, including Microsoft Surface Hubs.
- Basic understanding of network design and connections.
- Logical PC, Software, and Network Troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the M365 product suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Office productivity).
- Development experience in SharePoint preferred.
- HTML/Web Site development preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong writing skills for creating user documentation and guides.
- Users/Groups and Authentication techniques.
- Remote Desktop Services or VDI Technology experience.
- Demonstrate confidence, teamwork, promote collaboration, and communicate well with senior management, end users, and other customers.
- Effective time management and business awareness.
