The expected hiring range for this position is:
$33.50-$43.31.

About the Role:
Fermilab’s Finance Organization seeks a Financial Associate. The Financial Associate will support and assists with the compilation and review of financial information, and the execution of budget and financial activities.
What your day-to-day as a Financial Associate at Fermilab will look like:
- Collects financial information, maintains detailed records of budget, cost and/or obligation transactions, and produces periodic and ad-hoc reports for specific budget elements by utilizing appropriate query tools.
- Reviews expenditures to ensure conformance to budgetary controls and constraints; assigns expenditures to the appropriate project and task; investigates, verifies and reconciles apparent discrepancies and unexpected outcomes. Documents and initiates appropriate paperwork to support cost transfers as required.
- Conducts weekly reviews of timecards and associated Effort Reporting; ensures that information has been recorded correctly such that pay and historical edits are not adversely impacted. Determines and applies appropriate remedy when errors are identified.
- Utilizes appropriate query tools to extract data from laboratory financial and Effort databases; assists with the compilation of regular and ad-hoc reports and statistics; produces periodic financial and Effort reports and analyses as directed.
- Assists with enterprise software implementations, including user system testing, the development of user documentation and reports, and training other employees in the group. May serve as lead employee based on level of knowledge of a particular software/system - provides oversight and guidance to other employees.
- Assists with the development/change of methods and procedures for specific budgeting and/or financial activities within the organization(s) to which assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- High school diploma with 3+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.
