Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Mechanic to work on our ATR Mechanical department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) facility with every Friday off. You will perform facility maintenance and troubleshooting activities, using various tools and equipment, and maintain and repair equipment such as pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, and diesel fire pumps. You will report directly to the manager of the ATR Mechanical department. Responsibilities Include: - Perform facility corrective/preventative maintenance and or troubleshooting activities. - Use basic hand, power, precision measuring, shop and lifting tools and equipment soldering thermal and vibration sensing testing equipment. - Maintain pumps, fans, compressors, chiller, sand other rotating equipment. - Maintain and repair small motors and mechanical operations of air flow valves and controllers. - Maintain diesel equipment fire pumps, changing fluids, belts, pressure gauges, batteries, and major repairs to diesel fire pumps. - Maintain overhead doors. - Locate/Use drawings, blueprints, schematics, and system prints and comply with all safety and work control process requirements. - Participate in work planning walk downs, material identification/recommendation, man-hour estimating, and material procurement as required. - Maintain good housekeeping by keeping work area clean and organized. - Maintain all training and qualifications (individual Training Plan and job function requirements). Satisfactorily complete all required oral or written examinations associated with training. - Participate in all company safety programs, including but not limited to Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), and Employee Safety Training (EST). - Perform on the job training (OJT) and escort duties for the other craftsman as required. - Other duties as assigned by management.
