The expected hiring range for this position is:
$77,600.00-$110,267.00.

About the Role:
Fermilab’s Office of Communication takes the lead in telling the laboratory’s story both externally and internally. We ensure that people locally, nationally, and internationally are aware of the lab’s groundbreaking science and technology. We help Fermilab employees and users communicate their news and information. We also provide communication consulting and services that help the laboratory create and sustain relationships with stakeholders and fulfill its scientific mission. We recognize that diverse audiences require diverse communication channels, so we use every resource we can to deliver Fermilab’s message, including online and print publications, social media channels, local events, video, and lab wide staff gatherings.
In order to continue to drive that activity, the Office of Communication seeks a Creative Services Specialist, Sr. who under general supervision, will produce photography, video and other media formats to advance Fermilab’s reputation and overall public awareness. The work will be performed for a variety of customers at the Laboratory.
What your day-to-day as a Photographer & Video Producer at Fermilab will look like:
- Supporting a variety of Creative Services functions including photography, video production and editing, graphics, and 2D animation.
- You will photograph people, places and key events to provide a visual record of Fermilab activities and communicate with laboratory stakeholders.
- Providing audio-visual support for live events, including video streaming, audio monitoring, and Zoom Webinar management.
- Producing and editing videos to share updates across Fermilab’s various platforms, including Fermilab’s YouTube channel and other social media channels.
- Identifying and analyzing lab visual communication and determine project objectives and priorities.
- Determining project deadlines with those requesting support and commit department resources to projects, aligned with lab priorities.
- Serving as project manager for specific projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Interfacing with video and database file servers and maintain a visual archive of photographs and videos for use by Fermilab staff, media and other key stakeholders
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience taking professional quality studio and on-location photography of people, places, and events.
- 5+ years of experience in video production from concept through delivery, including pre-production, equipment operation, and post-production.
- Expert knowledge of with creative software including Blackmagic Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Audition.
- Ability to tell an engaging story in a visual manner.
- Experience working with YouTube and other social media platforms.
- Ability to interact with outside vendors when necessary for production and specifies requirements for the assigned projects.
- Ability to communicate and present to all levels of laboratory management both in writing and orally.
- Strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality is advantageous.
- Ability to abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety, and contractual regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
