Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Designer to work in our Design and Drafting department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research and Education Campus with every other Friday off. You will apply multi-disciplined designing skills and techniques to prepare new computer-generated designs and drawing changes to support multi-disciplined company engineering activities. You will report to the manager of the Design and Drafting department. PREFERRED CANDIDATE IDENTIFIED Responsibilities Include: - Participate and lead the design team to develop complete design and/or CAD models compatible with applicable codes and standards and pre-established cost, scope, and schedule dimensions for purposes of fabrication, installation, construction or modification of nuclear facilities, structures, systems and/or components (SSCs). - Provide drafting checking support for assigned group’s experiment drawings, including precision mechanical, electrical, piping and instruments drawings (P&IDs), etc. - Participate and lead in the selection of nuclear components, specifications, and acceptance criteria to be communicated via associated engineering documentation to support the end use. - Check drawings ensuring Fit, Form, and Function for Drawings of all complexity. - Provide design guidance to Engineering and supporting organizations. - Direct the work efforts of drafting personnel to achieve cost-effective engineering project cost management. - Train/mentor peers in the application of multi-disciplined design development skills and techniques. - Other responsibilities as assigned.
