Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Electrician to work in our Electrical Maintenance department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities 45 minutes west of Idaho Falls with every Friday off. Responsibilities: - Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant specific electrical equipment and systems including HVAC, GFCI’s, motors and generators, battery banks and chargers, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, voltage regulators, electronic governors, cranes and hoists, variable frequency drive control, lighting systems, and various power systems and controls. May include installation, modifications, and repairs on nuclear facility equipment and components. - Operate electrical conduit bending equipment, wiring fabrication, installation, basic hand, portable power, and shop equipment and tools. - Install, remove, and perform corrective maintenance on electrical raceways and protective devices. Install, connect, terminate, inspect, maintain, repair, and remove conductors. - Rack low and medium voltage breakers in and out of service. - Obtain and use drawings, blueprints, schematics, and vendor data to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, relays, and equipment. - Assist planner in ordering and obtaining parts needed for repairs and PMs as well as spare parts. - Participate in work order planning, procedure reviews, and walkdowns and provide valuable information throughout the work control and execution process as assigned. Make recommendations to the planner on hazard identification, hazard mitigation, technical information, task sequencing, resource requirements, equipment requirements, and other information to produce a work document that can be used in the field to accomplish the identified work scope. - Attend safety and other training as directed by the training schedule and supervisor. - Provide on-the-job training to the other crafts as requested by maintenance management. - Provide feedback to the foreman on any training needs or improvements that are needed to drive better performance and identifying any opportunities for improvement. - Provide feedback to the Planning Manager and/or Planning Lead on any recommended improvements to the work order documentation process. - Plan, implement, and complete special projects within area of expertise assigned by the foreman. - Fill in as Lead for Foreman as requested.
