Planner/Scheduler/Cost Analyst - BWX Technologies, Inc. – Idaho Falls, ID
Job Description / Duties:
This position is responsible for managing projects ranging from short duration to complex, multi-year projects through identification and completion of critical path and parallel work activities to achieve optimum performance. The Planner/Scheduler develops the resource loaded schedule and monitors project progress and reports status in accordance with an Earned Value Management System.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Development of project cost estimates and resource loaded schedules using approved Primavera 6 (P6) software.
- Supports development of cost estimates.
- Calculation of earned value management reporting parameters based on input from the production group.
- Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports including Monthly Progress Reports.
- Preparation of estimates and proposals as required by the customer or Site Manager.
- Develop resource-loaded schedules, establishing work breakdown structures as necessary, open, and close charge number structures.
- Support Project Managers to ensure costs are appropriate for the work scope and provide detailed project data as requested.
- Monitors and compares baseline costs with actual costs.
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
- Experience with Primavera 6 or similar Project Management software required.
- Associate’s degree with a desired minimum of eight (8) years of experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- Must be a US Citizen - no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Level “L” Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program is a plus.
- Works autonomously but within established practices and procedures to complete assigned work.
- Ability to identify and solve problems.
- Utilizes established processes, methods, and judgment to accomplish assigned work.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems strongly preferred.
- Proficient in us of Microsoft Excel and Access
- Monitor and track material expenses against baseline estimates.
- Input weekly labor and material costs data into P6.
- Work closely with Business Lead to provide monthly material estimates, setup, and close project charge codes.
- Establish Baseline Change Proposals (BCP) within P6.
Pay: $77,000 - $112,000
The base salary range for this position in Idaho (US-ID) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
