Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Advanced Battery Postdoctoral Researcher to work in our Energy Storage and Electric Transportation department reporting to the Project Investigator. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. This position in the Energy Storage & Electric Transportation Department will advance understanding of the role that impurities play in the performance of advanced batteries. This will be achieved through a combination of experimental and data science approaches to actively identify and quantify pathways to cell degradation. To achieve this goal, the researcher will combine knowledge of electrochemistry, materials science, chemistry and data science. Responsibilities Include: - Research, develop, and evaluate the properties and behavior of materials as affected by the composition, treatment, manufacture, and conditions of use. - Investigate and conduct experiments concerned with physical characteristics, mechanical properties, and processing of materials to develop and understand new applications, ceramics, metal alloys, processes, and methods of fabrication.
