Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a well-qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate in experimental geochemistry to join our team in the Geothermal Energy and Subsurface Systems group, reporting to the lead experimentalist in the group. You will be responsible for designing and conducting laboratory experiments, characterizing material samples, analyzing data, and interpreting results to advance our understanding of water-rock interactions at various temperature and pressure conditions. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. Responsibilities Include: - Design and conduct laboratory experiments to study the chemical and physical properties of geological materials – rocks, minerals, and ores. - Interpret experimental data, including the use of analytical techniques such as electron microprobe, electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, and mass spectrometry. - Collaborate with other researchers to develop and implement new experimental protocols and techniques. - Collaborate with other researchers on field work campaigns for testing, measurement, and sampling. - Publish research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present findings at conferences and workshops. - Collaborate with other researchers in writing grant proposals for external funding opportunities. - Stay current with the latest advancements and developments in the field of experimental geochemistry.
