Quality Engineer 2 (U-Metal) - Nuclear Fuel Services - Erwin, TN
Develop or assist senior Quality Engineers in the development and implementation of QA/QC systems. Provide support in QA audits either as an audit team member or as a lead auditor, depending on the individual's auditor qualifications and experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in QA/QC audits and systems evaluations of manufacturing, laboratory calibration, security, materials, safety, ALARA, Fitness-for-Duty Program, and vendor QA/QC programs.
2. Review and assist in the release of raw materials, in-process materials, and final products for shipment to verify that customer specifications are met.
3. Evaluate quality data packages and prepare product certifications for customers, including support information for ARs, RECs, DSRs, etc.
4. Draft Quality Assurance manuals, sampling plans, inspection procedures, and calibration procedures under guidance of the Quality Engineering Supervisor, revise manuals and procedures as applicable to reflect current requirements.
5. Assist in maintaining a nuclear material vault that includes performing physical inventories.
6. Assist in administering training and instructions to Surveillance Technicians and Quality Clerks.
7. Assist senior Quality Engineers in maintaining a gauge calibration program. The hold of this position may also perform the duties of supervising the calibration program in the absence of senior Quality Engineer.
Education:
Bachelor of Science OR Bachelor of Arts degree with two additional years of experience in QA/QC.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in quality assurance or quality control.
The base salary range for this position in TN the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $99,000per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
