The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst for its Business Operations Department. The Budget Analyst will support the Laboratory's budget formulation and execution activities including reporting, budget plan justification which provides analytical and financial support to the Budget Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Responsibilities
Core Duties:
Financial Analysis/Budget Formulation & Execution (70%)
- Prepare various financial schedules to support the Laboratory's budget formulation and execution processes, outyear planning, provisional and actual indirect rate calculations.
- Perform monthly analysis of indirect cost recovery at provisional rates.
- Prepare various reports for submission to DOE.
- Provide analytical and financial analysis support to the Budget Director and Chief Financial Officer, including responding to ad hoc data calls from DOE.
Other Tasks (30%)
- Support Principal Investigators in the preparation and submission of out-of-cycle proposals to DOE.
- Perform Oracle system maintenance activities assigned to the Budget Office (e.g., setting up new projects, updating project funding).
- Assist in developing/updating Budget Office desktop procedures and other documents.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business management or other similarly related business degree; Advanced Degree such as an MBA is a plus.
- 5-8 years’ experience working in a budgeting/accounting environment.
- Experience with Oracle financials a plus.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Experience in the development and maintenance of complex financial spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated understanding of Cost Accounting principle and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; ability to explain and quantify the impact of alternative decisions/scenarios to address business issues.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the Laboratory.
- Ability to independently research, interpret, analyze, and compile data, and present results.
- Ability to work well under pressure and successfully meet deadlines/deliverables working outside normal hours as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and Google applications.
