Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a
Piping Engineer opportunity in
Oak Ridge, TN at the
Y-12 National Security Complex.
Clearance: Active DOE L or Q (or DOD Secret of Top-Secret) security clearance preferred. Uncleared candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Citizenship: United States Citizenship required
Position Overview
The Piping Engineer will provide full-time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities at client’s facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
- Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
- Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
- Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Qualifications
- Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience or MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 11 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
- An active Q clearance.
