Pay Range
$31.88 - $39.57 Hourly for the 536.1 level
$39.98 - $49.65 Hourly for the 536.2 level
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description
We have multiple openings for a
Facilities Coordinator I/II to support the Director’s Office/Operations & Business Organization of the Global Security Organization. You will be responsible for work control functions and support related to the safe and efficient operation of facilities operated by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory which may include offices, industrial facilities, scientific and research laboratories, and emergency services facilities. You will perform basic technical and administrative duties in support of tenants, facility maintenance, construction projects, sponsor deliverables, and facility operations or similar facility support activities. This position is in the Facility Management Division within the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department and may require working at Site 300 in Tracy.
This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
You will
- Provide basic technical support to facility management personnel to coordinate and expedite equipment, materials and supplies to meet tenant needs and solve basic technical problems.
- Provide basic support for facility related activities of crafts, contractors, vendors, project managers, construction managers, environment, safety and health teams, radioactive & hazardous waste management, environmental functional area, and residents.
- Coordinate office personnel relocations and remodeling activities in assigned facilities.
- Prepare, submit, and track service requests and work requests.
- Support implementation of access control processes.
- Solve basic technical problems and exercise minimal decision making with knowledge of established guidelines, techniques, and procedures.
- Comply with safety and security requirements and policies and report hazards and other areas of concern.
- Update key plans, report new equipment installation locations, and provide warranty and operation manual information on new equipment to the Documentation & Permits Group.
- Interact with facility management, service providers, and facility tenants on day-to-day service needs for offices, industrial facilities, scientific and research laboratories, and emergency services facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Responsibilities, At The 536.2 Level
- Participate in facility assessments, walk-throughs, inspections, and work observations for compliance with security, environmental, safety, & health policies, and good housekeeping practices.
- Assist in annual space utilization and storm water pollution protection surveys.
- Report issues to the facility manager and program personnel. Correct hazards or potential hazards when authorized to do so.
- Coordinate and schedule facility/construction activities to meet programmatic requirements.
Qualifications
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and facility coordination experience.
- Basic knowledge of standards, procedures, and techniques related to facility coordination including service requests.
- Basic knowledge of building and utility systems in office, industrial, or laboratory facilities. Understanding of interactions and interdependence of facility related systems.
- General knowledge of safety practices as they apply to office and industrial facilities.
- Experience solving basic technical problems and with experience handling multiple assignments with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Basic experience and knowledge of personal computers, Word, Excel, and electronic systems used within facilities management.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with tact and diplomacy and demonstrated organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with coworkers, all levels of management, and other internal organizations.
- Proven interest and ability to independently and proactively acquire new knowledge and skills.

- Intermediate knowledge of the standards, procedures, and techniques related to facility coordination. facility coordination with related experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of building systems and utility systems in office, industrial, or laboratory facilities.
- Working knowledge of interactions and interdependence of facility related systems and Program operations/equipment.
- Experience and training on key systems that support the safety basis of the facilities, i.e. industrial, offices, and/or laboratories.

Site 300
Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis
).
Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
Pre-Employment Drug Test
