About Nitride Global
Nitride Global, Inc. is a growth-stage advanced materials company in the semiconductor space, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. We develop aluminum oxynitride (AlON) advanced packaging and thermal management technology for power electronics, RF and 3D packaging, alongside ultra-wide bandgap aluminum nitride (AlN) crystals and substrates. We are one of only four companies worldwide with AlN crystal growth expertise, and the only remaining fully domestically owned one. Our mission is to deliver transformative dual-use innovation while advancing national security and leadership. Our work spans terrestrial production and R&D as well as active space-flight programs with NASA and Axiom Space, engagements with the U.S. Air Force and AFWERX, and partnerships with a number of semiconductor industry leaders. For more information, visit www.nitrideglobal.com.
About the role
Nitride Global is scaling two lines of business at the frontier of ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductor materials: single-crystal aluminum nitride growth, and AlN / AlON thin-film coatings. Our project portfolio now spans NASA, the U.S. Air Force and AFWERX, the Department of Energy and PowerAmerica, and Axiom Space, alongside a growing commercial pipeline with leading semiconductor manufacturers.
We are looking for a dedicated project manager to own that portfolio end to end. This is the person who keeps every project on schedule, on budget, and audit-ready — and who understands the semiconductor domain. We hold this at project-manager or senior-project-manager level; the title flexes to fit the right person.
Working arrangement
This role is remote, and applicants must be based in the U.S. You will travel regularly to our production facility in Wichita, Kansas to work onsite alongside the technical team — in the lab and on the production floor — close enough to the work to know when a schedule is real. Occasional travel to our operations in Germany and to customer and partner sites will also be part of the role.
As part of the investment plan, and based on customer and partner feedback, the company is looking at potentially relocating to another geography over the next year. The current top candidates are Arizona (Phoenix) and Texas (Austin). That is why this role is remote today, with regular travel to Wichita.
Candidates must hold US permanent residency or citizenship.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end project management across both lines of business — crystal growth and coatings — from kickoff through close-out, internally and with external parties.
- Run schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables across a portfolio of parallel government and commercial programs.
- Manage government program administration: budget tracking and reporting, milestone documentation, invoicing support, and the compliance rhythm that federal awards require.
- Serve as the day-to-day coordination point across engineering, operations, and the executive team, as well as with vendors and customers, so issues surface early rather than late.
- Build the light-weight project-management discipline a company our size needs: clear status, clear owners, clear dates, with minimal overhead.
- Support proposal and award activity as new government programs come online.
What we’re looking for
- Roughly 7–10 years of project-management experience, with a semiconductor or microelectronics industry background. Company size matters far less than fluency — we care that the language of the industry is already yours.
- Experience managing U.S. government grants or government-funded projects. Federal budget management, reporting, and compliance are their own discipline, and this is the piece we most need you to bring.
- Exposure to either crystal growth or thin-film / coatings is a strong plus; depth on one side with a willingness to learn the other works well here.
- A genuine hybrid operator — comfortable owning the administrative backbone of a project and equally comfortable being hands-on with the team.
- Willingness to travel regularly to headquarters and to customer and partner sites.
- Formal PMP or equivalent certification is welcome and entirely optional.
Priority note: if we have to choose, semiconductor fluency plus government-program experience outranks years of service or the size of the companies on the résumé.
Compensation
Base salary in the range of $100,000–$120,000, depending on experience, plus meaningful equity.
