Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Employee Relations Investigations Manager to join our HR team. The Manager of Employee Relations Investigations will manage a team of Employee Relations Professionals/Investigators. The manager will provide oversight for employee relations matters across the company to include triaging cases, assessment of the concerns, determination of next steps and assignment of cases to Employee Relations Professionals/Investigators. The manager should be experienced in conducting fact-finding investigations regarding company policy violations, misconduct, discrimination, and harassment. The manager will conduct reviews of all investigation reports to ensure standards are met. The position also requires oversight and management of the case management processes and will advise all levels of management on discipline protocols. The manager will be an active member of the Corporate Employee Concerns Program and provide leadership in employee relations matters outside their direct business area. The manager will be an active member of the Human Resources management team and ensure stakeholders are informed in a timely manner, as appropriate. Manager must be comfortable advising on high impact decisions.
The Employee Relations Investigation Manager will coach line management on FMP discipline protocols, HR and Corporate policies, Employee Concerns Program and the intersection of HR/Company policies and processes to assist in the resolution of employee relations matters, from the simplest to the most complex cases. The manager will engage stakeholders as necessary to include leaders in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Legal, Security, Medical and Compliance and Business Ethics, and other subject matter experts. The selected individual needs to be knowledgeable on best practices in conducting investigations and compliance with relevant employment and labor regulations (e.g., ADA, EEO, harassment, discrimination). Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Additional Required Skills:
- Experience in conducting or overseeing investigations as a primary job responsibility.
- Experience in formal investigation report writing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in administering company policies and in-depth knowledge of HR policies to include but not limited to discipline, performance management, ADA, Rules of Conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees.
- Previous management experience.
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated experience in managing high stress situations and multitasking within a dynamic environment.

Pay Range
$114,400.00 - $178,800.00 annually
