What You'll Do
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, operating, and securing network services and systems to include hardware and virtual environments. Implement new system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Integrate new systems into existing network architecture. Monitor network capacity and performance. Configure and optimize network equipment, systems, and interoperability within the enterprise. Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures. Diagnose network connectivity problem. Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware). Identify, document, report, and patch network vulnerabilities to ensure that information is safeguarded against outside parties. Provide feedback on network requirements, including network architecture and infrastructure. Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
Skill in:
- Managing, testing, and implementing current security architectures for operating systems, networks, cybersecurity analysis tools and related IT systems.
- Implementing, maintaining, and improving established network security practices.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN components such as routers, hubs, and switches.
- Using network management tools to analyze network traffic patterns (e.g., simple network management protocol).
- Securing network communications.
- Protecting a network against malware. (e.g., NIPS, anti-malware, restrict/prevent external devices, spam filters).
- Configuring and utilizing network protection components (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, network intrusion detection systems).
- Designing the integration of hardware and software solutions.
- Developing and applying network security system access controls.
- Discerning the protection needs (i.e., security controls) of information systems and networks.
- Evaluating the adequacy of security designs.
- Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- Eight or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
