What You'll Do
The Commissioning Completion Advisor is a multifaceted role supporting various schedule development tasks and championing project goals. The role will lead the preparation and execution of system turnover activities, ensuring integration and completion of all required tasks in accordance with schedule timelines. It will support the deployment of data and metrics at various tier meetings directly assisting in project completion. The individual will also serve as an interface for Production, Mission Engineering, and Startup Testing to ensure smooth transition of systems and documentation with scheduled turnovers. The position requires continuous schedule development and improvements to effectively meet Commissioning schedule goals. Significant interface within UPF Commissioning and Project organizations, including Production, Programs, Engineering, Quality, and Startup will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Champion operations and transition strategies, ensuring implementation of Commissioning requirements within UPF
- Review, status and manage the schedule from testing and transition to the Y-12 owner, ensuring the successful startup of UPF Commissioning activities
- Act as a single point of contact for Level 5 schedule creation and maintenance
- Managing, maintaining, and expanding Rolling Action Item Lists (RAILs) for Operational Readiness activities
- Applies appropriate and effective tools for project management to ensure timely, effective, and efficient execution of project milestones
- Integrate data residing in various databases into singular analysis tools via data analysis software
Accountabilities:
- To the UPF Production Director for ensuring schedule performance against project milestones
- To the Y-12 Commissioning Manager for the effective interface and integration of UPF with existing Y-12 production facilities
- To the Y-12 Commissioning Manager for the successful planning and completion of system turnover activities, including timely resolution of outstanding items and issues
- To the UPF workforce for ensuring successful training, readiness planning/practice and production startup

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
- OR Master’s degree: Minimum 10 years of experience
- OR PhD: Minimum 6 years of experience
- Typical experience 15+ years
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science and 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. Preferred Job Requirements
- Fifteen or more years of nuclear experience is strongly preferred
- Relevant experience in production operations environment and interfaces with production and maintenance personnel is desired
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management is preferred
- Working knowledge of related production and facility support equipment, and maintenance processes are preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of Issues Management System and development of effective corrective action plans are desired
- Requires strong technical and organization skills, and ability to facilitate accomplishment of objectives across organization boundaries
- A commitment to continuous process improvement and lean/7S concepts is required
- Knowledge of certain IT systems, such as SAP, MS Project, P6, Visio is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to generate and provide high level briefings to internal and external entities is strongly preferred
- Possessing knowledge of the principles of Conduct of Operations as described in DOE (Department of Energy) O 422.1 is preferred
- Requires the ability to prioritize and manage competing and multiple priorities, maintain flexibility and adapt to change
