The
Continuous Improvement Supervisor is responsible for driving operational excellence within the warehouse by leading continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, and supporting strategic business projects. This role partners closely with Warehouse Operations, Planning, Customer Service, and other key functions to identify opportunities for improvement, eliminate inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions that enhance performance, quality, service, and cost.
The ideal candidate combines strong experience in continuous improvement methodologies, process optimization, and project management, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory control, and material handling processes.
- Analyze existing workflows and operational performance to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and structured problem-solving activities to drive sustainable improvements.
- Develop, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, safety, service, and cost.
- Partner with warehouse leadership to implement and sustain standardized work processes and best practices.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees on Lean principles, continuous improvement tools, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Conduct process mapping, value stream mapping, and time studies to identify waste and improve process efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new systems, technologies, automation solutions, and process changes within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements throughout all improvement initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate strategic projects focused on operational excellence and business performance enhancement.
- Manage the continuous improvement project pipeline, including project intake, prioritization, resource alignment, execution planning, and tracking.
- Apply structured project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
- Drive change management activities to support successful adoption and sustainment of process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Customer Service, Operations, and other business functions to improve end-to-end processes and enhance customer experience.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities beyond warehouse operations, supporting broader organizational objectives.
- Provide project governance, performance reporting, and leadership updates across multiple concurrent initiatives.
