Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree AND experience equivalent to three years of full-time experience in a public safety related field or military service, of which one year must be supervision OR coordination.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time experience in a public safety related field or military service may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in a related subject may be substituted for the required experience for a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years, there being no substitution for the one year of full-time supervisory OR coordination work.
Overview
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is currently accepting resumes for the position of Emergency Management Administrator 1 Team Development Manager located in Nashville. This position is for a highly skilled person to manage the state-level emergency management team development program. Supports strategic effort to build capacity, capabilities, and teams across the State of Tennessee to respond and assist in times of emergencies. Supports strategic effort to develop and sustain an ecosystem of emergency management, emergency response, and ressupport capabilities by leading the development of statewide teams to enhance regional and state core capabilities. Leads and facilitates the administration of the Team Development Program and all established committee structures. Provides administrative and overhead support to each programmatic effort and provides coordination between partners and stakeholders to support timely information sharing and dissemination of communication on program activities and updates throughout the state. Manages internal and external partner efforts to ensure programmatic energies are coordinated effectively and communications regarding program activities and updates are shared and disseminated in a timely manner to appropriate state-level partners, including Emergency Support Coordinators (ESCs).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for work of substantial difficulty in leading, planning, organizing, and supporting the committee structures engaged in enhancing state-wide team development efforts.
- Leads, coordinates, plans for, and facilitates committee and team development objectives and opportunities with the supporting committee structures.
- Provides direct administrative and overhead support for the Team Development program and all supporting committees.
- Provides for coordination between partners and stakeholders to support timely information sharing and dissemination of communication on programmatic activities throughout the state.
- Responsible for enhancing data storage, record-keeping, and information sharing across all Team Development efforts.
- Responsible for creating adaptable and expanding team structures through the application of leadership with a strong sense of ownership for all programmatic efforts.
- Must drive consistent cross-functional collaboration with local, state, federal, private sector, and non-governmental organizations, with internal and external partners.
As part of the Tennessee Emergency Management Authority's mission, all positions may be called upon to support emergency operations. Employees may be required to work alternate schedules and/or report to alternate work locations to include disaster scenes to support response and recovery operations.
