Operations Manager - 3396
Manages manufacturing operations duties and activities for one or more plants or manufacturing facilities.
Job Duties
- Seek to improve the organization's financial performance and competitive positioning through continuous improvement of production related processes
- Study the organization's manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency optimization
- Develop a manufacturing plan and production schedule that increases profit while reducing overhead
- Establish quality and safety standards and track vendor or organizational performance
- Modify employee schedules or staffing plans to reduce labor costs while meeting output expectations
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles
- Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
- Lead and direct the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions
- Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience
