Position Overview/Duties
INTRODUCTION: S erves as project manager responsible for overall project planning, execution, control and closure of civil works projects associated with flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, environmental, recreation, disaster response and recovery, work for others, water supply, special projects and other civil works related activities.

Description Of Assignment/Duties
- Serve as project manager responsible for overall project planning, execution, control and closure of a wide range of civil works and/or interagency support projects.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery teams and manages resources in planning, engineering, acquisition, construction, real estate and other supporting activities with delegated decision authority to meet project objectives.
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact with sponsor/stakeholders; various federal, state and local government agencies; Congressional interests; and other external organizations.
- Provide input and assistance to budget development and defense processes; District programming decisions and operating budget.
- Keep leadership informed about projects through routine updates, project review boards, and other briefings.

- In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below:
- Experience Requirement: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. I have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service which includes applying management concepts, principles, methods, and, practices associated with the initiation, planning, management, control, coordination and execution of Civil Works projects; preparing schedules and budget estimates; tracking and reporting progress against schedules and budget estimates; functioning as an authoritative source for decisions and guidance dealing with compromises and changes in project objectives.
- This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Conditions Of Employment
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position is designated as Non-Sensitive-No access security clearance.
- The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter.
- This position has been designated as performing Project and/or Program Management functions. In accordance with USACE policy and the Program and Project Management Career Development Plan (CDP), Program and Project Managers are required to achieve, at minimum, Level 1 CDP internal qualification.
