As the Technical Programs Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading, managing and integrating the Central Engineering Programs support area, including overall responsibility for management of assigned staff, technical oversight and quality assurance for functional area execution. This role includes oversight to the Fire Protection program.
This position reports to the Chief Engineer. Primary responsibilities include:
- Implementing ISMS, VPP, and EMS responsibilities in the Central Engineering functional support area.
- Effectively leading members of the Central Engineering team including encouraging their professional development, establishing arrangements that allow them to perform effectively in their role, and ensuring maintenance of any required training, experience and qualifications.
- Maintaining the Engineering Discipline Lead (EDL) and specialist subject matter expert (SME) staff capability needed to successfully deliver CPCCo scope.
- Leading the development and maintenance of the Engineering training and qualification program.
- Leading the establishment, implementation, ongoing maintenance interpretation of key engineering processes, procedures, and standards across the spectrum of engineering accountabilities.
- Leading the development and maintenance of key CPCC engineering administrative programs, including:
- Engineering Corrective Action oversight.
- Engineering Lessons Learned/OPEX program.
- Engineering assessment, MOP and WSA assignment and tracking.
- Working with the Chief Engineer, functional support area SMEs and field project delivery groups to ensure that engineering procedures, standards and guides are aligned with and support the CPCC Conduct of Engineering approach.
- Establishing, maintaining and reporting on key engineering functional performance indicators that are indicative of the health of the engineering function.
- Serving as the Cost Account Manager for the Central Engineering function.
- Become qualified as a Buyers Technical Representative and administer this role for engineering contracts. Serve as the POC for engineering contracts.
- Central Point of Contact to manage cross contractor and cross project responses to Defense Nuclear Safety Board inquiries.
Basic Qualifications
- Manager Grade 22 - Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline plus 12 years of relevant experience
- Manager Grade 23 - Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in a multidiscipline engineering/technical management role including fire protection engineering management capacity.
- Working knowledge of the codes, principles, practices and techniques in the field of nuclear facility engineering, including relevant DOE orders and directives.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full-time schedule (40 hours per week):
- Grade 22: $137,150 - $240,000.
- Grade 23: $157,700 - $276,250.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
