Job Description
The Environmental Engineering team at the Kesselring Site is seeking an entry-level engineer who is eager to learn, grow, and make an impact!
In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of radiological, environmental, safety, and health initiatives that ensure our site remains compliant with company standards as well as federal and state regulations. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in environmental engineering within a highly regulated and safety-focused environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs that protect both personnel and facilities.
- Participate in trend analysis, audits, accident investigations, and site inspections to evaluate processes, equipment, and workplace conditions.
- Support efforts to improve operational procedures, equipment design, and workflows to reduce potential hazards.
- Help create and maintain record?keeping systems that track and analyze personnel injury and illness data.
- Contribute to employee training sessions, emergency preparedness activities, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide technical support by interpreting regulatory requirements and assisting with compliance strategies.
- Stay up to date on environmental, safety, and health regulations and how they apply to site operations.

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

- Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Prior internship/co-op experience in a related job field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range
$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
