Job Title: Government Projects Operations Manager
Job Description
The Government Operations Manager for the East Region is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of federal and commercial projects across Georgia and Tennessee. This role focuses on high-profile missions for the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), providing critical security and EH&S support at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The manager ensures that regional project teams deliver specialized technical services, such as 'Q-cleared' security escorting and industrial hygiene, while maintaining the company's reputation as a premier Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day operations for Western Region sites, overseeing complex projects ranging from nuclear construction management to groundwater treatability studies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regional federal agencies, managing contracts that involve 'Q-cleared' escort services and sensitive site access control.
- Ensure all projects adhere to EH&S standards, including 10 CFR 851 and Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS), to maintain a culture where every injury is preventable.
- Oversee the deployment of skilled professionals and subject matter experts (SMEs) to fill critical positions at LANL and other regional facilities under Master Services Agreements.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts for environmental remediation tasks, including soil sampling, waste characterization, and building demolition.
- Support the VP of Government Operations in identifying new regional opportunities within the DOE EM cleanup mission and other federal solicitations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in operations management and program management.
- Experience with DOE operations.
- Strong understanding of safety and engineering principles.
- Project coordination and management expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Construction Management.
- PMP certification preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in government contracting, specifically with the DOE, NNSA, or NASA.
- Deep familiarity with federal regulatory frameworks, including FAR, DFARS, and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams in high-security or radiological environments.
- Active or maintainable DOE 'Q' security clearance.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
