The Procurement team at Argonne National Laboratory seeks applications from talented and highly-motivated individuals to join a team of specialists focused on providing procurement support and exceptional service to the scientists, engineers, and organizations across the Laboratory.
This role facilitates the timely and economical acquisition of standard and complex products and services required by the scientific and operations organizations of Argonne National Laboratory within legal constraints of the regulatory procedures and statutes. Independently assesses and resolves routine challenges; escalates complex or cross-functional issues through the appropriate chain of command. Participates in sub-teams/working groups to continuously improve procurement processes, customer service feedback, and compliance outcomes within the Commercial Procurement team.
Position Requirements
- PA1: Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of applicable procurement regulations and established procurement policies and procedures.
- Ability to use knowledge of procurement regulations to negotiate orders, evaluate and select vendors, determine appropriate costs and price, and closeout all types of purchase orders and/or subcontracts.
- Knowledge of the characteristics of products and services being procured.
- Knowledge of planning, scheduling, and program control as well as authoring, administering, terminating, and closing out awards.
- Professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Skills in price and cost analysis are preferred.
- Experience in commercial and government subcontracting is preferred.
