Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Manager, Nuclear Energy External Innovation Technical Integration Office (IO) to work on our Nuclear Energy External Innovation integration office team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. Responsibilities Include: -- Interactions on behalf of DOE include applicants from the academic, industry, and national laboratory communities as well as other interested parties such as partners from the federal government. -- Fully accountable to DOE-NE, the national and international university research community, the national laboratory research community, and participating industries as all hold the engagements, actions, and outcomes of the IO to an outstandingly high standard. -- The benchmarks for this position are defensibility, transparency, and fairness for all competitively reviewed research, equipment, and student selections. -- Objectively meeting these expectations requires continued demonstration of excellence to maintain the confidence of sponsors, partners, and participants. -- Program funding opportunities and solicitations currently under management include DOE-NE university research, infrastructure, and student support; DOE-NE program crosscut funded R&D and equipment/facility access, DOE-NE SBIR owned scope areas under DOE Office of Science programs, DOE-NE participation in Office of Technology Commercialization calls, and other solicitation processes sponsored through DOE, national laboratories or other fund sources. - Additional responsibilities include: -- Answering policy and submission related logistical questions from partners and participants, interpreting and implementing engagement practices with appropriate equity to all participants and informing partners of outcomes and consequences. -- Responsible to lead the implementation of workflows that include actions associated with the receipt and review of applications as well as program demographics including the systems required to execute this role. -- Maintains a direct relationship with DOE-NE leadership and handles the office and processes that are the focal point for DOE-NE competitive R&D. -- Primary interfaces for strategic decisions and formulation of policy, practice, and processes include senior DOE-NE leadership. Interfaces for program execution include academic leaders with vision, senior national laboratory personnel (national program directors), industrial representatives, and other interested public entities. -- Embodies values of excellence, teamwork, ownership, and ability to grow and develop staff
