The expected hiring range for this position is:
$77,600.00-$110,267.00.

Under general supervision, a Signal Integrity & PCB Design Engineer at Fermilab combines fundamental engineering concepts and principles with a growing familiarity of Laboratory engineering best practices to perform basic to moderately complex engineering tasks, from the design stage through review, procurement, manufacture, installation, test, and operation.
This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
What your day-to-day as a Signal Integrity & PCB Design Engineer at Fermilab will look like:
- Analyzing data and performing engineering calculations. Developing less complicated designs of specific parts, components, or phases of a project.
- Developing and documenting basic to moderately complex engineering design solutions.
- Providing technical direction to draftspersons, designers, engineering associates and technicians, as assigned.
- Participating in or leading aspects of procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, and operation.
- Assisting in the development of cost estimates, as well as the monitoring of budgetary obligations.
- With review and approval of supervisor, proposing resources and/or ensuring conformance to specifications and cost/time constraints.
- Serving on safety panels, review committees, and other subcommittees as assigned.
- You may be asked to participate in technical conferences and publication.
- You may be asked to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- You will always abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Bachelors in an applicable Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution
- 2+ years of fundamental engineering experience,
- or a master’s or PhD in an applicable Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Professional knowledge of theories, concepts, principles, and methodology for the engineering discipline.
- Possess ability to perform basic to moderately complex engineering design solutions and techniques.
- PCB layout experience (Altium)
- Strong electronics/hardware knowledge (transistors and semiconductors studies)
- Experience with Electromagnetics and transmission line theory
Nice to Have:
- PSpice, MATLAB, and/or Altium experience
Work Arrangement:

- Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.
