BWXT’s Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking an Electronics Technician for its Lynchburg, VA location!
BWXT is seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial electronics and be proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various electronic systems and equipment including, but not limited to, CNCs, Automated Welders, QC and Security equipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
Responsibilities
Electrically install, troubleshoot and repair Industrial Equipment. This at times will include doing so in tight spaces or confined spaces while wearing respiratory protection, safely operate cranes, hoists, power tools, motorized equipment, and hand tools. Document daily activities in SAP PM module. Work to specialized procedures in a radiological environment. Identify, repair and replace faulty equipment through keen observation, troubleshooting and analytical rational. Work closely with coworkers and the Planning Department to locate parts and schedule repairs as necessary.
Requirements
- Must observe and enforce all safety rules and guidelines
- Must have a proven understanding of installing. troubleshooting and repairing electronic instrumentation.
- Must have a proven understanding of installing. troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment up to 480 V, 3 phase.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering instructions.
- Must have a proven understanding of installing, troubleshooting and repairing PLCs.
- Some knowledge of HVAC, Cryogenics, basic vacuum and leak detection desired.
- Some knowledge of a CMMS and its attributes, i e. SAP
- Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be willing to attend training classes and seminars.
- Must obtain and maintain respirator qualifications.
- Minimum 4 years industrial experience.

Pay: $59,000 - $88,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $59,000 and $88,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
