Our Occupational Safety & Industrial Hygiene (OS & IH) team is seeking a dynamic Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Program Manager who has the ability to effectively manage and provide strong leadership to the Occupational Safety Program office. Our mission is to ultimately protect the safety and health of our workforce by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementation of the tenets of the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Reporting to the OS&IH Manager, the OS & IH Program Manager provides overall leadership and management of the Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Programs Group. Directs execution of Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Programs and using a graded approach assesses field implementation and opportunities for improvement of the OS & IH Program. Directs and oversees the preparation and maintenance of OS & IH programs, standards, procedures and policies to support the safe and healthy work environment at CPCCo. Manages the OS & IH Program staff.
Provides clear and concise day to day direction to staff, manages OS & IH Programs group deliverables. Effectively communicates expectations to OS & IH Program staff and removes obstacles to facilitate timely completion of deliverables.
Coordinates staffing assignment, development and efficient human resource allocation with other Department Management/Supervision. Provides staff with effective opportunity for improvement, professional development, training, ongoing review of work products/deliverables, priorities, and opportunities to present and deliver information to workers and management.
A day in the life of an Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Program Manager involves the following:
- Responsible for managing DOE 10 CFR 851 compliant and implementable occupational safety programs and procedures.
- Actively supports the implementation of the Hanford Site Wide OS & IH Programs.
- Ensures occupational safety and industrial hygiene technical support provided to all operations and facilities is consistent with CPCCo safety and health policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Work hand-in-hand with Project Management and Safety, Health, Environmental, Radcon, Security & Quality Management to assist and support their efforts in assuring safe operations, workplaces, and behaviors.
- Directly support efforts to maintain Integrated Safety Management System program implementation and VPP recognition.
- Performs work in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner.
- Seek to create efficiencies while maintaining compliance.
Basic Qualifications
Manager Grade 22:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 12 years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Current Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
- Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
Grade 22: $134,200 - $234,850
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
