Operations Center Specialist, Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc., Erwin, TN
Summary Description of Job:
Responsible for monitoring NFS Plant Systems, Operations, and Communications from the NFS Operations Center (OC), providing coordination, communication, and documentation as described in the NFS Operations Center Procedures. The Operations Center Specialists (OCS) supports the Plant Superintendent and Security Operations Supervisor from the Operations Center.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor emergency telephones and dispatch emergency response when required.
- Perform medical emergency communications and complete after action reports.
- Conduct Emergency Response Organization Alert Notification (ERO) Test and ERO notifications in case of emergencies.
- Collect data during significant events, develop a chronological log and provide turnover information to the Emergency Control Center as needed.
- Monitor plant Criticality Alarm and Fire Alarm systems for trouble alarms and make appropriate notifications.
- Monitor plant systems: Boilers, Heat Trace, Scrubbers, etc., and make appropriate notifications.
- Perform PA announcements as directed by the Plant Superintendent.
- Take incoming calls to the OC and make notifications according to OC procedures.
- Field incoming calls for transportation accidents involving NFS shipments.
- Monitor local and national news to report significant events that may affect NFS.
- Monitor weather conditions and take action as described in OC procedures.
- Send Employee Notifications as requested by the Plant Superintendent or Security Operations Supervisor.
- Track work alone employees.
- Make notifications to Senior Management as directed by the Plant Superintendent or Security Operations Supervisor.
- Track and displaying key plant information in the Operations Center.
- Support the Plant Superintendent and Security Operations Supervisor from the Operations Center.
- The NFS Operations Center will operate 24/7 and require the OCS’s to work shift work, holidays, and weekends.
Educational Requirements of Job:
High School Degree
Experience Requirements of Job (Beyond educational or equivalent):
Minimum five years’ experience in one of the following; Operations Center operations, Security, Emergency Response, Dispatching Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, Military Service, Nuclear Industry Work, Alarm Station Operator.
Desired Skills include; General Computer Skills, Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Time Management, Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $49,000 - $72,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $49,000 and $72,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
